Hans Eller


Hans Eller (August 14, 1910 – April 4, 1943) was a German rower who competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, USA.
In 1932 he won the gold medal as member of the German boat in the coxed fours competition.
Born Johannes Eller, August 10, 1910, Danzig-Oliva. Father naval captain, mother home maker.
Studied Grenoble, France, law degree, Berlin. Worked for "Wirtschaftsgruppe Elektroindustrie," and included as clients Siemens, Mende, and Phillips, some of which he then defended against nationalization by National Socialist government.
Married Hildegard Kluge of Dresden December 23, 1939, son Hans-Peter M. Eller born Dresden, March 22, 1943. Drafted January 1940, wounded in France; after recuperation sent to Russia, declared missing January 23, 1943. Search division of German Red Cross recently found from Russian records that he died in a camp near Starobelsk April 4, 1943.
Member of BRC, Berliner Ruder Club, Wannsee; also pariticpated successfully as crew member in fours in Henley Regattas.
